In an effort to restore the beauty and integrity of our historic town center, the Downtown Improvement Association launched the Clean Slate initiative—an ongoing project focused on removing graffiti from buildings, public spaces, and alleyways throughout Downtown Hilo. Working closely with local volunteers, property owners, and city officials, the project not only revitalizes affected areas with fresh coats of paint but also promotes community pride and respect for shared spaces.
